At the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) Annual Convention and EXPO – dubbed “Retail’s BIG Show” – January 15-17, Xerox will demonstrate to retailers from around the globe how print innovations and analytics can springboard more memorable, personalized retail experiences in-store, online and on mobile devices.

Xerox’s Direct to Object Printer will be featured in the NRF Innovation Lab (iLab), a hands-on experience where attendees can learn about and interact with products and technologies that inspire brands to innovate and customers to buy. The iLab focuses on 3D printing, artificial intelligence, robotics and wearable technologies.

In the iLab, Xerox will showcase digital printing technology that enables retailers to print directly on 3D objects like water bottles in a matter of minutes. By enabling quick personalization on-site, retailers can create a unique way to engage customers.

If I’ve learned one thing, it’s that real, lasting transformation is not going to come from four to five big ideas spearheaded by management; it’s  a thousand decisions made differently every day by thousands of our colleagues — their ideas, their passion, and their leadership. My job is to enable that.

Without a doubt, Xerox has been in “productivity mode” for years. It may be our most commonly used word. And we’re good at cost cutting in response to market conditions that have challenged our business but we now have the opportunity to shift from just enough to chase what’s possible.

When we first started down the strategic transformation path, I was one of the biggest skeptics. That said, I truly believe now that what we’re doing is fundamentally different than anything we’ve ever attempted. Here’s why:
